Milestones
- The Mauritius Gymkhana Club was founded in 1849.
- From 1849 to 1976, during the times of the Mauritius Military Gymkhana Club and the Mauritius Naval and Military Gymkhana Club, the Presidents were the respective Officers in Command of the Troops based in Mauritius.
- The Club hosted its first President’s Ball in 1976, establishing a tradition of social and cultural engagement.
- The first Mauritian President of the Club was Jean Galea, marking a significant milestone in its local leadership.
- In 1976, the Royal Navy officially handed over the Mauritius Naval and Military Gymkhana Club to its first civilian committee.
